I love trees!! I have a tip for you on this one: The purple areas of the photo, this is called chromatic aberration (you can read about it here: [link] ). People call it "purple fringing" also and that's how most photographers refer to it. Anyway, I've been learning how to get rid of it to make my photos look better. Here's a trick I've learned:

In PS, copy your layer (Ctrl + j) then go to Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur, select 7.0 as the amount, then immediately go to Edit > Fade Gaussian Blur and drop the amount to 96% and select "Color" as the blending mode from the drop down menu (blur and purple should now be gone). This should take care of the purple...or at least most of it.

Let me know if you try it....if you don't have PS, I'm sure you could figure out a similar operation in GIMP or other editing software. I'm thinking of doing a couple of tutorials to show how to do this and clean up digital noise. I probably won't get to it until after Christmas, though. :D
